Partnerships Associate

Your Objective

As the ‘relationship builder’ for the Sadie Collective, you work closely with the Sadie
Collective’s Executive Director and Programs Associate. The Associate will assist the team in
identifying and researching new funding opportunities; developing correspondence and program
materials for existing and new partners; and maintaining communications with three stakeholder
groups for the Sadie Collective: members, partners and donors. The Associate will conduct
prospect research, draft compelling materials and proposals, execute day-to-day tasks related to
partner deliverables, and support impact reporting. The ideal candidate is interested in or has
experience with activities related to sales, fundraising and/or business development, Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR), customer service, and impact reporting in a true startup

environment. The Associate will work closely with partners, nonprofits, and the Sadie Collective
team.
 
We are looking for an entrepreneurial self-starter whose passion sits at the unique intersection of social impact, and corporate social responsibility. The Associate will help establish and build
processes for the Partnerships team, while also supporting inbound requests and opportunities as they arise.

Location: East Coast (NY & D.C. areas preferred)

 

Your Primary Responsibilities:

Prospect Research and Proposal Writing:

  • Draft partnership proposals, agreements, and reports

  • Prepare customized materials to engage partners and their employees

  • Assist Executive Director with follow up on partnership and grant leads

  • Track all engagements with donor and partners using Salesforce

  • Produce relevant reports to give insight into the Sadie Collective engagement with donors

Client Relationship Management of Members and Partner Relationships:

  • Deliver an excellent partnership experience for Sadie Collective partners

  • Maintain & optimize CRM to track the partnership pipeline and support partnership
    reporting

  • Identify and research prospective strategic partners

  • Serves as primary and initial contact for customer service-related calls, fielding questions, issues, from members.

  • Host Membership Portal demos for partners to generate engagement and sign-ups to the Portal

  • Liaise with Advanced Communities about necessary changes to the Portal

  • Support Programs Associate on events with strategic partners such as the Sadie Summit

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Represent the Sadie Collective to external-facing audiences at events of partners and to the media as needed

  • Produce thought leadership on Black women in economics and opportunities for improving the pipeline and pathway

  • Assist with all other tasks as needed outside of the duties described above.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing, and communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Prior work experience, ideally in fundraising, and nonprofit organizations

  • Interest in economics, data science, finance, or public policy

  • Familiarity with Trello, Slack, Google Suite is a plus

  • Salesforce or other CRM software familiarity is a plus

 

Preferred Candidate has

  • Interest in the nonprofit sector, and corporate social responsibility

  • Experience with sales, business development, and/or fundraising

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Team player, entrepreneurial and enthusiastic about working in a startup culture

  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects

  • Good with people and building relationships

  • Can-do personality with a good sense of humor

  • 1-3 years of work experience

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree holder or a few years experience in project management for a nonprofit organization
